What would we do without the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic world? It’s really the perfect set-up, and one that never seems to grows stale. Insert hordes of flesh eating zombies and you’ve got a recipe for horror gold, which is exactly why we see so many stories tackle this genre. Staying alive is certainly no easy task when your entire day consists of not becoming a zombie’s next happy meal. But finding love in a world like this is perhaps just as difficult, which is exactly why one must hold on to it with all they’ve got. This is essentially the story we have here, and it offers a little bit of everything we want from our zombie films as it features some gnarly looking flesh-eaters, plenty of the red stuff and a big heart! Tommy Wirkola’s Dead Snow sequel gets interesting title change
Many of you are probably familiar with Tommy Wirkola’s latest film Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters which found surprising success at the box-office, but what he was mostly known for before this years hit was the blood soaked Nazi zombie horror flick Dead Snow. A sequel to his zombie flick has been in the works for months now and has just undergone an interesting title change. Despite its new, and terrible title change, the sequel promises more undead insanity led by a phenomenal cast. Today it was announced that Wirkola’s latest venture into the zombie genre will officially be called Dead Snow: Red vs. Dead. Yea, not the best title we’ve ever seen but if nothing else it will hopefully add to the film’s charm! Continue Reading…

Amazing black listed zombie project, Maggie, lands Arnold Schwarzenegger
It has been a little over a year since we’ve heard anything from this wicked sounding undead flick called Maggie — which looks to be a refreshing take on the genre. Now, word is coming in from Variety that Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed on to star in and produce the film. Continue Reading…

Joshua Hoffine’s epic zombie photo Last Stand finally revealed!
We were promised months ago from horror photographer Joshua Hoffine that we would be getting an epic zombie photograph and that it would be his most ambitious yet. Simply titled Last Stand, Hoffine created easily one of his greatest works of art as the image depicts a family in their very last moments of life before finally being overrun by a horde of hungry zombies. New trailer for zombie epic ‘World War Z’
It’s no secret that the Marc Forster directed World War Z has been plagued with problems since it started shooting, but despite everything seemingly going wrong, it looks like they’ve created — if anything — one hell of a looking zombie flick. The latest trailer shows a lot of new footage but strangely enough they never give us a close up of the zombies which is odd considering that’s exactly what this film is about. I’m still iffy with the entire film, not because it barely resembles the novel, but because of all the CG. Obviously with the direction they’ve taken this film to be more of an action summer blockbuster CG was the best answer so we’ll see how this turns out. I’m setting the bar low as of right now though. A Script for ‘Dead Snow 2′ is Finished and Ready to Go
Some of you may recognize the name Tommy Wirkola as the director is about to make his American film debut with Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. What put his name on the map, however, was a little indy film called Dead Snow, the gory Nazi zombie genre flick. Continue Reading…

Prepare Yourselves! The ‘World War Z’ Trailer is Here!
As promised, the World War Z trailer is here and it looks massive. The scale of this film is insane and from the trailer alone you can tell that this is a very loose adaptation of the Max Brooks novel which is definitely something that might make a few fans upset. It’s a huge CGI fest and almost looks like a Roland Emmerich film which was not what I was expecting. Also, these zombies run insanely fast, so fast that they flood over one-another almost like water. It’s pretty crazy and definitely a new twist on what we usually see our zombies doing. I generally prefer my zombies to go the old-school route of walking and grunting, but for what this film is going for I think the fact that they run makes more sense. It’s supposed to be chaotic; and nothing says chaotic like a running zombie. Continue Reading…
