Dracula Untold

And here it is, our first look at the Luke Evans-starring Dracula Untold in which he plays the most famous of vampires in an origin story that sees a Transylvanian prince risk eternal damnation in order to save his wife and son from a Turkish horde. The biggest question surrounding this film was which direction were they going to take one of cinema’s oldest and most iconic monsters—well, now we know. The film does exactly what its title suggests as it peels back the layers of Dracula by telling the story we’ve never heard before. But how does it look on film? Pretty cool, for the most part. GreenInferno

And here it is, folks! Finally, the official trailer for Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno has been released in all of its cannibalistic glory, featuring screams of terror and a heavy dose of horror. Roth is a voice the genre hasn’t heard in quite some time as The Green Inferno marks the director’s return behind a feature film since 2007′s Hostel Part II. Everything we’ve seen leading up to this trailer has been fantastic, but this 2-minute slice of horror is pretty brilliant as most of it is all suggestive, leaving a lot up to the imagination. It’s a really well done trailer that only gives us a taste of what’s to come. Check it out! Continue Reading…

TheDrownsman

Our very first taste of Chad Archibald’s supernatural chiller The Drownsman came to us with an incredible poster last month that really grabbed the attention of horror fans everywhere. With a trailer now released, will it live up to our expectations? Well, I can’t speak for everyone but so far The Drownsman looks like a pretty solid horror flick. The trailer oozes old school horror as it offers up a cool and original concept with a nasty villain at its core. It’s still much to early to tell if we’ve got something special on our hands with this one, but it’s certainly off to a great start and I can’t wait to see what The Drownsman has in store. Watch the trailer below and see what you think! Continue Reading…

wolfcop2

The official trailer for WolfCop is exactly what you’re thinking it is—ridiculous and awesome in all the right ways. The ’80s had Teen Wolf, today we get the drunken, ass-kicking WolfCop that sheds his skin and goes after the bad guys. It looks like a stupid good time and exactly what B-movies are all about. I don’t have much more to say about this one, folks, so I’ll just let the trailer speak for itself! Continue Reading…

We’ve got more found-footage headed our way (surprise!) in the form of a pretty wicked looking thriller from the filmmakers behind Quarantine and Devil. The Dowdle Brothers’ latest foray into the genre sees two archaeologists in search of a lost treasure in the catacombs below Paris. I really dig the approach they took the story of this one—what could have easily been just another creature flick where some kids get trapped underground has instead been turned into something entirely different. Have these archaeologists found hell on earth? Continue Reading…

5-the-green-inferno

The Green Inferno marks the long awaited return of director Eli Roth who hasn’t stepped behind the camera of a feature film since 2007′s Hostel: Part II, and today a teaser trailer has finally dropped for the cannibalistic tale and it’s absolutely haunting. In it we’re teased with a few close-up shots of a terrified girl tied down by a native tribe who only have one thing on the menu—man-sushi. The teaser captures the very gruesome nature of Roth’s latest foray into the genre without actually spilling any of the red stuff. It plays on the fears of our imagination because we all know what road this is heading down, the teaser just provides the direction. Continue Reading…

Indigenous trailer offers creature-feature scares

Indigenous

Alastair Orr’s creature-featured Indigenous has just debuted its trailer as it sets up for its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival this weekend. The trailer is all kinds of awesome as it features a wicked creature design—a blood-sucking Chupacabra—that makes happy meals out of a bunch of friends who go wandering off into the jungle. I’m a sucker for a practical effects driven creature-feature with a monster design that’s actually scary; surprisingly, that’s something the horror genre doesn’t see that often anymore. The trailer goes straight for the jugular and unleashes a terrifying glimpse at the film’s creature—and it looks like something that crawled straight out of the darkest corners of a nightmare. I honestly can’t think of a better way to wrap the week up than with this carnage-fueled teaser trailer for Brian O’Malley’s Let Us Prey. It’s literally 45 seconds of pure insanity that only takes a breathe to throw more of the red stuff on the walls. Basically, it’s my kind of teaser! You won’t find a story to be told in this quick trailer because instead of bothering us with all those boring words and stuff, it delivers a pure gut-wrenching dose of horror that promises to be a night filled with insanity. all_cheerleaders_7_large

RLJ/Image Entertainment has just announced (finally) the release date of Lucky McKee and Chris Sivertson’s All Cheerleaders Die, and to celebrate the occasion we’ve been handed a new poster. Back in November, when we first saw the amazing trailer for this ridiculous little flick, I admitted to giving All Cheerleaders Die the ol’ write-off attitude. That all changed, however, once I saw what this horror-comedy gem had to offer. Continue Reading…
