Even better news has hit the Predator front today as Collider did a little bit of investigating and found out from the director of the film himself, Shane Black, that his take on the film is actually going to be an “inventive sequel” rather than a reboot. Black and Fred Dekker—the man behind Monster Squad—plan on digging deeper into the Predator mythology. This somehow just got a whole lot better. Read on to see what Black had to say. Archives For Mondo
I’m at a loss for words on this one, guys. Laurent Durieux is one of the most brilliant artists working with Mondo today, and he continues to recreate classic films on print in masterful detail. I’ve been lucky enough to get my hands on two prints of his and I can say that the pictures, while still amazing, don’t do the art justice by any means. Durieux has a Mondo gallery show opening tomorrow and Collider revealed these three stunning screenprints for Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, Vertigo and Rear Window. All of these prints are absolutely stunning, showing exactly why Durieux’s work is some of the hardest to obtain.
Mondo is continuously laying out some fantastic prints for the month of October with their latest poster coming to us from artist Randy Ortiz. Ortiz’s take on Ridley Scott’s Alien is absolutely amazing—it’s a simple enough design that features the terrifying face-hugger latched to its prey. Yummy! Some fantastic stuff here, so if you’re considering trying your hand at snagging one of these then you’ll want to act quick as they are sure to go pretty fast. Continue Reading…

Shaun of the Dead gets Mondo treatment from Tyler Stout
With The World’s End right around the corner, the Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline, Austin’s newest theater, had a grand opening celebration over the weekend with a triple feature of Edgar Wright’s “Blood and Ice Cream” Trilogy, including an advance screening of Wright’s The World’s End which will close out the trilogy. At the screening they surprised the audience with an on-screen reveal of Tyler Stout’s Shaun of the Dead poster — and in typical Stout fashion, it kicks some serious ass. Continue Reading…
