Poor Carrie White, she just wanted to be like everyone else. Sometimes it’s okay to be a little different though, something the film struggles with from the get-go. Kimberly Peirce’s take on Stephen King’s classic novel of the same name tries much to hard to please the wrong audience and ends up being a missed opportunity. Carrie is a horror tale about Carrie White, a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother, who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom. Carrie remake gets an official rating
This is pretty much the best possible news we could have gotten from Kimberly Peirce’s upcoming take on Carrie. A rating is everything in a horror film because it determines a lot of what we’ll actually see on screen. With a film like Carrie, you absolutely need to see everything because seeing Carrie’s wrath is what the story is all about. Continue Reading…
Crazy cool Carrie poster runs red
Artist Jessica Deahl recently took on the 1976 Brian De Palma horror classic Carrie and it’s an absolutely stunning piece of work. Deahl found a way to breathe new life into Stephen King’s classic character and the result is nothing short of horror gold. It’s really an amazing piece and thankfully Deahl didn’t shy away from the red stuff we appreciate so much around these parts because it really captures the very essence of the flick. To put it simply, it’s cool as hell! With Halloween just around the corner we’re starting to see some truly awesome horror themed posters being brought to life and Deahl’s Carrie poster is no doubt one of the best ones we’ve seen yet! Why the Carrie remake was delayed
Back in January we learned that Kimberly Peirce’s upcoming re-imagining of Carrie was getting delayed an insane 7 months away from its original release date of March 15, 2013. Up until now it was a mystery as to why Sony decided to push the film to October 18th, 2013. Typically when a film gets such a massive delay it sends up a major red flag because it usually means trouble for a film. Is that the case with Carrie, or did they just go back to do a bit of tweaking? Continue Reading…

EW’s Comic-Con issue shows a bloodied Carrie
This week’s EW issue is a special Comic-Con edition, and on the cover is none other than Chloe Grace Moretz as Carrie and she’s covered in a lot of red stuff we dig so much around these parts! Kimberly Peirce’s take on Carrie is said to be a more faithful adaptation of Stephen King’s classic novel which will open in theaters on October 18th! Continue Reading…
While we still have a pretty lengthy wait until we see Carrie hit the silver screen in October, we at least have some new stills to hold us over until then. I’ve been following Carrie since the first rumors of Chloe Moretz taking the lead as Carrie White and for those of you who have been reading my blog since then you’ll know that I’ve been on board from the beginning. I really dig the cast and I believe that Moretz will surprise a lot of people. I also like the fact that this adaptation is going to be more faithful to Stephen King’s novel.
A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.
Directed by Kimberly Peirce, Carrie pours into theaters on October 18th. Check out the new stills!
Here it is! The official trailer for the re-imagining of Stephen King’s classic novel, Carrie, is finally here! There was a lot of hype surrounding the flick for a while but ever since it got pushed all the way back to October we haven’t really heard much from the film. Now, with the first official trailer we can finally see exactly what Chloe Moretz will be like in the iconic role of Carrie White — and it’s pretty damn wicked!
The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.
I gotta say, I really love this trailer. It pours on the suspense along with a bucket of pigs blood. What more could you want?

‘Carrie’ Remake Delayed Until October

As of right now it’s a mystery as to why Sony shifted the opening date, so I’ll keep you guys posted on that when more becomes available. Continue Reading…
