Simon Pegg’s paranoid horror-comedy A Fantastic Fear of Everything has just been handed a VOD release of January 7th before it heads into its limited theatrical run on February 7th. With its new release date comes a new trailer that paints a dreamlike atmosphere for the Crispian Mills-directed feature film and it looks pretty damn interesting. Continue Reading…

Simon Pegg has A Fantastic Fear of Everything
Last year, just as 2013 was rolling in, I made a list of the most anticipated horror movies of 2013. Some of them turned out to be a hit like Stoker, The Conjuring, Byzantium and Evil Dead while others were quite the disappointment as we saw both Carrie and Oldboy falling short of expectations. Now, I’ll be turning my attention to what horror has to offer in 2014. Continue Reading…
The Dead Snow 2 teaser delivers an exploding head, and yes, it’s amazing
I’ve got good news and bad news. The bad news is that Christmas break is already over. And the good news? The first teaser for Tommy Wirkola’s Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead has arrived and it’s a one-minute masterpiece. There was no doubting that Wirkola was going to up the ante when he decided to revisit the cold world of undead Nazis, but I don’t think anything could have prepare us for just how awesome this trailer is. Sundance is going to need a clean-up crew after this flick has its World premiere in January! Continue Reading…
Heil five this Dead Snow 2 poster!
With Tommy Wirkola’s Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead heading into its World premiere at Sundance in January, the film’s very first poster has arrived and it’s pretty awesome. Not sure that I’d want to “heil five” this guy because there’s a good chance you wont be getting your hand back. This marks the sequel to his ridiculous indie horror flick Dead Snow in which a ski vacation turns horrific for a group of medical students, as they find themselves confronted by an unimaginable menace: Nazi zombies. It’s a cheesy blast and features plenty of the red stuff to keep horror fans smiling until the final frame. Continue Reading…
Crave, from director Charles de Lauzirika, isn’t a story that’s entirely new as it draws inspiration from films like Taxi Driver and Falling Down, but it does offer an interesting look into the mind of a man struggling with his inner demons. It’s very much a psychological trip that often times comes very close to setting itself apart from a lot of other films in the genre, unfortunately, it just never quite finds its way. The film follows a downtrodden photographer, haunted by the urban violence and decay around him, who retreats into an inner world of dark fantasies. Continue Reading…
I knew something big was in the works when we went a couple of weeks without hearing of any new remakes on the horizon. I Saw the Devil is an absolute masterful piece of horror cinema that is downright brutal and dark as all hell, and now it’s headed to the States. Uh oh. I Saw the Devil has only been around for a couple of years so they certainly didn’t wait long to bring this one to American audiences. Let the Right One In underwent a similar situation when Matt Reeves remade the film shortly after (Let Me In), and honestly, that remake turned out just fine. So could this one have a similar fate? Continue Reading…
A film I’ve been keeping a close eye on for quite some time now is David Hackl’s Endangered, which was previously known as the much better titled Red Machine. The film stars the totally underrated and always badass Thomas Jane who must fight a massive rogue grizzly, known as Red Machine, that wreaks havoc on a local Alaskan community. We saw some early looks at the animatronic bear a while back that they were using for the close-up scenes and it looks absolutely terrifying. I have high hopes for Endangered as it has the potential to be one of the most thrilling films on the horizon. Continue Reading…
One of the things I’ve been excited to see was the kind of tone and look Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was going to have under the direction of Let Me In‘s Matt Reeves. And just as I hoped it looks very dark and apocalyptic as the film picks up 10 years after the events of Rise. The start of the trailer gives us a speech by Gary Oldman, which is a win in itself, but then we finally get a brilliant shot of Caesar as he prepares to go to war. I’m so glad to see that Matt Reeves got his filthy paws on this one because it looks like he has brought his uniquely dark vision to the franchise. Continue Reading…
