With his Cannibal Holocaust inspired horror film The Green Inferno and the upcoming Netflix series Hemlock Grove it’s nice to see Eli Roth working in horror again. Now he set his eyes on one of the best horror directors out there in Ti West. West will write and direct the upcoming horror film The Sacrament which is being financed by Octane and Worldview Entertainment with Eli Roth doing all of the ground work.
No word on what the film is going to be about but we do know that they plan to shoot the film as early as the end of this month. Roth says, “I’ve been a Ti West fan since his first film and have watched him continue to grow into one of the smartest and most exciting filmmakers working today. We want to make this Ti’s first mainstream movie, without sacrificing the quality and unflinching horror of the subject matter. And I’m thrilled to once again partner with Worldview Entertainment, as they fully appreciate what we bring to the project and are letting us run wild with it.”
This is some fantastic news for fans of Ti West because from the sounds of it, it looks like West will be getting the all important budget to make the movie he’s always wanted to. However, a bigger budget means more responsibility so let’s hope that Roth is right when he says Worldview Entertainment is “letting us run wild with it.”
