I’ve got some quick release date news to pass along to you guys as Warner Bros. has just slated the sequel to James Wan’s massive hit The Conjuring for an October 23, 2015 release, setting it up just in time to haunt theaters right before Halloween! At first glance it’s kind of surprising to see that they aren’t going to give it a July release where the original film pulled in over $300 million worldwide. But as you guys know, the summer movie season is filled with one blockbuster after another, and 2015′s summer schedule is looking quite crowded with films like Avengers, Terminator, Mad Max, Jurassic World, Ant Man and Ted 2—just to name a few—all hitting theaters that summer. The Conjuring’s Annabelle doll getting her very own movie?

Some interesting news is being reported that James Wan’s The Conjuring is getting a spinoff titled Annabell, and it will be about exactly that—the Annabelle doll that had one hell of a terrifying presence in the film. One thing I often hear when fans talk about Wan’s haunter is how damn creepy that doll was. And she’s hardly in the film at all! This tells me that Warner Bros. is really onto something here. According to Schmoes Know, The Conjuring’s Director of Photography John R. Leonetti will take the helm, and sources say the movie will begin filming in Spring of 2014.  Continue Reading…

Seeing as how I never got the chance to review James Wan’s The Conjuring when it scared up theaters back in July, I figured a Blu-ray review only made sense. Hitting shelves on October 22nd, acclaimed director James Wan’s The Conjuring follows a pair of paranormal investigators who help a family haunted by a demonic force, only to find themselves trapped in their own horrifying nightmare. Is this what The Conjuring sequel will be about?

With James Wan’s The Conjuring recently surpassing $100 million at the box-office and currently on its way to becoming one of the highest grossing supernatural horror films of all time, it’s no surprise that New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures are fast-tracking a sequel. They want the sequel to be based on another case file from the Warrens which leaves plenty of options on the table. According to AICN, right now the case file they are looking into takes place in the ’70′s and will center on two sisters in Enfield, England, who were allegedly possessed. If the studios decide to tackle this particular haunting for the sequel then it sounds like we can expect lots of demons and contorted bodies. Here are some small details on what happened. Current owners of The Conjuring house haven’t slept in days

With all of the success and hype surrounding James Wan’s The Conjuring, you knew something like this was going to happen eventually. In a recent article on Woonsocket Call, it has been revealed that the current residents of the Harrisville, R.I. home are being disturbed by fans of the movie who want to take a peak at the house that inspired the film.

“We haven’t slept in days,” Norma Sutcliffe told The Call. “Because we wake up at 2 in the morning there are people with flashlights in our yard. People call on the phone and ask “is this ‘The Conjuring’ house?”  I can imagine that being pretty damn annoying. Obviously there’s really no harm in being curious and wanting to see the house that inspired it all. Hell, I myself went and checked out the Amityville Horror house a few years ago that I admired from a distance. However, it only takes one nut job to turn curiosity into something much worse, which is exactly what the couple are afraid of. Continue Reading…

New Line gearing up for The Conjuring sequel

According to Variety, it looks like New Line is already eyeing a sequel to James Wan’s The Conjuring which should be a huge hit this weekend. New Line is currently exploring a potential franchise based around the Warrens’ investigations, which have involved cases that have already made their way to the big screen like The Amityville Horror and The Haunting in Connecticut. Investigate the Official trailer for ‘The Conjuring’

James Wan’s The Conjuring has quickly established itself as one of the must see horror films of the year as it made a huge splash  with it’s truly creepy teaser we got just a few weeks ago. Now, we’ve got an official trailer to haunt us that gives a much better idea as to what exactly the film is about. I’ve got to say, I really dig the new trailer. It’s not nearly as creepy as the teaser — which would be hard to top — but still manages to send chills down your spine. Again, if you guys haven’t read the true story that inspired the film yet, I strongly urge you to do so because it’s simply fascinating and Andrea Perron, who lived in the house, directly helped me write the most accurate telling of her story.  Continue Reading…

‘The Conjuring’ is too scary for a PG-13 Rating

As if horror fans weren’t already really excited to see James Wan’s latest outing with The Conjuring, today the MPAA announced that they have given the horror film an R-rating simply for being “too scary“. Originally James Wan wanted to make the film PG-13 with the goal in mind to prove that filmmakers can still create a terrifying film with a PG-13 rating. Well it turns out that he didn’t meet his goal because the MPAA decided that his haunted house film which is based on a true story is just too intense for filmgoers. Continue Reading…
