The Lords of Salem is far from anything we’ve seen from Rob Zombie thus far as it swallows you in its creepy atmosphere and chilling visuals while letting the slow and eerie pacing of the film sink into your bones. The film centers around A radio DJ, Heidi, who one night is sent a mysterious box containing a record; a “gift from the Lords.” The sounds within the grooves trigger flashbacks of her town’s violent past. Is Heidi going mad, or are the Lords back to take revenge on Salem, Massachusetts? Continue Reading…

Official Trailer for Rob Zombie’s ‘The Lords of Salem’ Has Always Been Waiting
Hitting limited theaters on April 19th is Rob Zombie’s latest bizarre trip into the world of horror with The Lords of Salem. Anchor Bay has released the official trailer for the film and it is much better than the boot-leggy version we got months ago. The newest trailer is absolutely jarring and is a quick reminder that this isn’t your typical trip into the horror genre as Zombie seems to have created his most mature film to date. After its premier at TIFF this year the reviews came in very mixed to say the least. It seems that there was absolutely no middle ground — it was either loved or hated which is exactly the kind of response I would expect from a Rob Zombie film. And after seeing the first official trailer, it’s safe to say that I’m even more excited to see what The Lords of Salem has in store. Continue Reading…

Rob Zombie’s latest feature film The Lords of Salem has sparked quite a bit of interest since the release of one of the most interesting and eerie trailers of the year. Now, Anchor Bay has finally set a release date for Zombie’s film for April 26th, 2013 along with a novelization co-written by Zombie and B.K. Evenson which will hit shelves on March 12th, 2013. Rob Zombie’s Visually Stunning ‘The Lords of Salem’ Trailer Is Finally Here
After months of anticipation Rob Zombies The Lords of Salem finally has a trailer and it’s one of the most visually stunning and bizarre trailers of the year. With Anchor Bay handling all of the distribution rights they have released a trailer that is unbelievable strange. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect of Rob Zombie’s latest effort but now that I’ve seen a trailer it’s reminiscent of Dario Argento and Stanley Kubrick’s older works and it looks completely out of this world. You can tell right away that this is Zombie’s most mature film to date and looks just crazy enough to set itself apart from many other horror films. Continue Reading…

The Lords Are Coming With Newest Poster For ‘The Lords of Salem’
According to Rob Zombie’s latest poster for his upcoming horror film, “The Lords Are Coming” but not soon enough if you ask me. We’ve been teased with images and poster for months now yet still no trailer. But with each new promotional image in anticipation for the upcoming screening at TIFF, we are that much closer to getting a trailer.
“Heidi, a radio station DJ, receives a wooden box containing a record. Heidi listens and the bizarre sounds within the grooves immediately trigger flashbacks of Salem’s violent past. Is Heidi going mad or are the Lords of Salem returning for revenge on modern day Salem?
After the film’s TIFF run which spans from September 6th – 16th we’ll know much more about the highly anticipated flick. You can check out the newest poster below. While I really loved the all blue posters much more I still dig this one; it features a mysterious symbol and warns us that, “The Lords Are Coming”.

The Missing Reel
The Missing Reel is a compilation of all things horror and what mattered throughout the week. This week we take a look at The Walking Dead invading Universal, a trailer for Eddie The Sleepwalking Cannibal, a Rob Zombie directed commercial and much more.
25th Anniversary ‘Nightmare On Elm Street’ Poster
It marks the 25th anniversary for A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors which will get a special screening at the Chinese 6 Theaters in Hollywood. With that, Mad Monster created this very cool poster for the film. Check it out.
Mickey Rourke Returns For ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’
Although he died in the original film that doesn’t mean Robert Rodriguez can’t bring back the tough as nails character for the sequel. Per Deadline, Rourke is currently in negotiations to make his return to Sin City 2 reprising his role as Marv.
“The film is about Dwight McCarthy planing to have his vengeance against the woman who betrayed him, Ava Lord, while Nancy is trying to cope with Hartigan’s death.”
Expected to go into production this summer the film is set for an October 4th, 2013 release.
New Trailer for Horror Comedy ‘Eddie, The Sleepwalking Cannibal’
This new take on the zombie genre looks quite funny and just got picked up for a U.S. distribution by Music Box Films.
The film concerns Lars Olafssen, a man unable to paint without inspiration. He accepts a teaching gig at a small-time art school in Eastern Ontario. Somehow he inherits the guardianship of the offbeat town’s neighborhood weirdo, Eddie. As their unlikely friendship evolves, Lars uncovers a dark, violent secret about Eddie’s nocturnal impulses, and finds himself torn between his duty to his friend and his duty to his art.

Fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead will be excited to know that you can now experience those undead flesh-eating zombies in person at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights. There will be a maze called The Walking Dead: Dead Inside as well as a Terror Tram. Check it out.
Rob Zombie Directed Pest Control Commercial
While we wait in agony for Rob Zombie’s latest feature film The Lords of Salem we’ll have to let this ridiculous pest control commercial from Amdro in which Rob Zombie directed. The commercial is pretty awesome and you can definitely see Zombie’s style of filmmaking in there.
‘Grim Night’ Finds A Director
Grim Night was announced a while ago but has never quite gotten itself going. All that is about to change, however, as it looks like they found a director in Dennis Gansel. Grim Night grabbed the attention of people with its pitch trailer which is more or less a promo than a trailer. What makes this particular horror film so intriguing is its story which has a pretty creepy premise.
Grim Night concerns one night out of the year in which everyone around the world locks themselves indoors and fights of “Grims,” creatures known to wipe out thousands of people for inexplicable reasons. The story focuses on one American family and their terrifying ordeal with these supernatural entities.
Heres the pitch trailer:
Horror Icons Turned Into Ice Scream
This is ridiculous and a bit unnecessary but I still find myself wanting one of these. A Russian company created this insane line of popsicles featuring the horror icons of Jason, Chucky, Freddy, Predator, and Pinhead. There isn’t much else to say on the matter, I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves…

The Missing Reel
Here is a compilation of all things horror and what mattered throughout the week. This week on The Missing Reel we take a look at a new poster for John Dies at the End, the first stills from The ABC’s of Death, a great trailer for House at the End of the Street and more.
‘John Dies at The End’ Gets A New Poster And Pics
With the Toronto Film Festival right around the corner, many of the films in the Midnight Madness line-up have been dropping new photos in anticipation for the screenings. With that, we get this very cool looking poster for Don Coscarelli’s John Dies At The End. This will mark the long awaited return to the horror genre from the director who has given us such gems like Bubba Ho-Tep and Phantasm. The film is based on the novel from David Wong of the same name and it has some of the best characters in recent memory. It’s an absolutely hilarious and terrifying novel that if the same chemistry from the novel translates onto the big screen then we are in for one hell of a treat.
In John Dies at the End, it’s all about the Soy Sauce, a drug that promises an out-of-body experience with each hit. Users drift across time and dimensions. But some who come back are no longer human. Suddenly, a silent otherworldly invasion is underway, and mankind needs a hero. What it gets instead is John (Rob Mayes) and David (Chase Williamson), a pair of college dropouts who can barely hold down jobs. Can these two stop the oncoming horror in time to save humanity? No. No, they can’t. Adapted from David Wong’s audacious trans-genre horror novel, John Dies at the End is written and directed by Don Coscarelli (Bubba Ho-Tep) and also stars Clancy Brown and Paul Giamatti.
Check out the poster and some pics below.
Great New ‘The Lords of Salem’ Pics
At this point there really isn’t much else to say about Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem other than I need to see it… like now. Check out some awesome new pics of the film.
Finally Some Images For ‘The ABC’s of Death’
If the 26-director horror anthology The ABC’s of Death isn’t on your radar then it needs to be asap. It features 26 of the best up and coming horror directors in the genre.
Twenty-six directors… 26 ways to die! The ABCs Of Death is perhaps the most ambitious anthology film ever conceived, featuring segments directed by over two dozen of the world’s leading talents in contemporary genre film. With each director assigned a letter of the alphabet, they were then given free rein in choosing a word to create a story involving a tale of mortality. It’s an alphabetical arsenal of destruction orchestrated by some of the most exciting names in global horror including Ben Wheatley (Kill List), Ti West (House of the Devil), Jason Eisener (Hobo With A Shotgun), Adam Wingard (You’re Next), Xavier Gens (Frontieres), and Nacho Vigalondo (Time Crimes).
Take a look at some of the great looking images for the upcoming anthology film.
New Trailer For ‘House at the End of the Street’
The first trailer that released for House at the End of the Street was pretty decent but never quite got me excited to see the film and even the second trailer left me a bit underwhelmed. Well, it looks like the third time’s a charm because this third trailer for the film is fantastic and shows a very creepy element to the film that is reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. I can officially say that I am sold.
A mother and daughter move to a new town and find themselves living next door to a house where a young girl murdered her parents. When the daughter befriends the surviving son, she learns the story is far from over.
Check out the new trailer below.
Sequel For ‘Prometheus’ Confirmed
It’s no secret that Ridley Scott and Damon Lindelof originally wanted Prometheus to be the first of a planned trilogy. Prometheus was a big success considering its subject matter and made pretty good change at the box office which is how Scott got the green light for the sequel. I fully understand that it isn’t a movie for everyone and quite a few people were left disappointed. The disappointment is mostly do to the fact that Lindelof’s story telling leaves a ton of questions unanswered. Although not everyone loved the film, it seems to be that many people are actually looking forward to the sequel including myself. The best things about Prometheus were it’s characters in Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace who absolutely stole the spotlight of this film. The good news is that they will be returning for the sequel and Lindelof will most likely be replaced due to his schedule. So if you didn’t like Lindelof’s style of writing then rest assured, he will probably have nothing to do with the next film.
