Archives For Maniac

It looks like the Amityville house has just found its next victim as BD is reporting that Maniac director Franck Khalfoun is currently in talks to helm the latest film in the franchise. Originally the film was titled The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes but it has now been changed to the much simpler (and better) title of Amityville. With the haunted house genre thriving like it is, I’m not at all surprised to see this one making some noise. Khalfoun gives Amityville a pretty big edge considering he’s coming off of his brilliant remake of Maniac, which was one of my favorite horror films of 2013. His brutal sense of storytelling should find a nice, cozy place within the Amityville house. Continue Reading…

IFC is showing off their beauty of a new poster for Franck Khalfoun’s fantastic stylistic slasher Maniac. I’ve been a fan of just about all of the posters so far for the film but this one takes the cake as it shows Elijah Wood standing in the iconic pose with a handful of beautiful blonde hair. Very cool! Check out my review for the film right here! Continue Reading…

Maniac2012_2

Franck Khalfoun’s Maniac is a stylishly brutal horror film that wraps its bloody hands around your throat and never lets go. Khalfoun’s remake centers around a serial killer with a fetish for scalps who is on the hunt. Frank is the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store, but his life changes when young artist Anna appears asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship develops and Frank’s obsession escalates, it becomes clear that she has unleashed a long-repressed compulsion to stalk and kill. Continue Reading…

AICN got their hands on the first look at Jeff Proctor’s wicked looking poster for Franck Khalfoun’s Maniac remake and it’s easily one of my favorite posters to come out of Mondo this year. The poster is a fantastic tribute to the original one-sheet and I think you guys are really going to dig it. Continue Reading…

Mondo Expands Record Label

Ryan —  January 2, 2013 — Leave a comment

While Mondo is mostly known for their work with world renown artists who create visually stunning movie posters, they have quietly developed their own record label which saw soundtrack releases of Maniac and The Beyond on vinyl. Mondo has some big titles on tap for 2013 as they expect to expand their record label. The first release of 2013 will be the monster movie classic The Deadly Spawn, which will be available starting Friday, January 4th. The artwork was done by Phantom City Creative and the amount of detail that went into it lives up to the Mondo name. They have also announced a Drive soundtrack that will be getting the art treatment of Tyler Stout, which I have no doubt will be absolutely amazing. Continue Reading…
