The Art of Adam Rabalais

Because I know you guys love some original artwork as much as myself I decided to shine the spotlight on a truly talented artist, Adam Rabalais. He specializes in creating some of the most amazing alternate movie posters that more often than not blow the original artwork out of the water. All of his work comes from a minimalistic vision showing key elements to the film that capture the heart and soul of a film in one simple picture. His work is undeniably cool with a each poster looking as if they have been sitting on a dusty shelf for decades just waiting to be discovered. I have always been a big fan of the simplistic approach to doing art and Rabalais has proven that sometimes less really does mean more. Continue Reading…

Are You Prepared For A Zombie Invasion? The UK is!

Ryan —  October 12, 2012 — 6 Comments

Halloween is upon us and with that we get the inevitable return of flesh eaters across the world that come out in search for man sushi. I’d like to think that I’m quite prepared for an invasion of the dead but just because my passion is all things horror doesn’t mean I could fend off a swarm of zombies without a little help. Let’s be honest, when your town gets overrun by the undead, most of us would just curl up into a ball and wait for it to all be over.

If you live in the UK I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that you’re at the center of a massive zombie outbreak. But before you panic and grab the nearest weapon and start boarding up the house, here’s the good news. The wonderful people at allfancydress.com made this great site http://www.zombieinvasion.co.uk/ that aims to show the spread of the infection across the UK that will aid you in finding safe shelter!

Allfancydress is Halloween’s best friend, featuring some of the most popular and spooky costumes you can buy. They are one of the leading independent suppliers of zombie costumes in the UK. What they’ve done is take their costume sales data over the last 3 years and shown it on the map portraying exactly where the ghouls of the night are coming from. So when someone orders a costume through their website the map reflects that sale and pops up on the map as a zombie outbreak. It’s quite a cool and unique way of showing off their sales.

Be sure to head over to their costume site and take a look at the zombie invasion map because who knows, there could be an outbreak happening all around you. And we wouldn’t want you to be under prepared now would we?

Gorgeous Mondo Posters For ‘Halloween’ And New Logo For ‘Evil Dead’ Remake

Ryan —  October 11, 2012 — 5 Comments

Gearing up for a nationwide release beginning October 25th John Carpenter’s Halloween will be hitting select screens through October 31st. This will mark the widest distribution the film has seen since its original release in 1978. Mondo artist Ken Taylor has created two variations of a gorgeous poster just for the event.

Probably the biggest remake in recent memory is Sony Picutures’ Evil Dead. With New York Comic-Con just a few days away Sony Pictures have released a new logo for the film which isn’t much but it’s definitely better than nothing.

In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up long-dormant demons that possess each of those friends in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.” FilmDistrict will release in theaters April 12, 2013

Adam Green’s 14th Annual Halloween Short Teaches Michael Myers How To Drive

Ryan —  October 1, 2012 — 4 Comments

Hatchet director Adam Green has made it a tradition to write and direct a Halloween short film every season. Now that we’ve officially entered the month of Halloween Green is back with another fantastic addition to his library of Halloween short films. His 14th effort is called Driving Lessons starring the always great Joel David Moore and Kane Hodder as Michael Myers. Green shot the short in a way that presents it as a fake deleted scene from John Carpenters classic, Halloween. How cool is it that Green convinced Kane Hodder — who is famous for playing the iconic Jason Vorhees —to suit up for Michael Myers.

So who gave Myers his driving lessons?
