We’ve seen quite a few fantastic short films grace the Short Round over the years, but none have been quite like Aaron B. Koontz’s The El Chupugcabra. With a heavy dose of over the top horror and comedy, Koontz’s short film follows a young family that adopts a pug and gets a whole hell of a lot more than they ever imagined.

Aside from the fact that pugs always look like they are one fall-off-the-bed away from an eye popping out of their skulls and the constant snoring, pugs can be pretty adorable in the same way that a homeless guy on the street singing Guns ‘N Roses can be. But then there’s the Chupugcabra… a four legged beast that you should never, under any circumstances, feed marshmallows. Why? Well, you’ll have to watch the short below to find out.
