The V/H/S: Viral trailer is nuts!

As expected, the first trailer for the third V/H/S offering—V/H/S: Viral—is fueled by plenty of the red stuff and a hefty dose of insanity as it offers a quick look at each of the new segments in the film. Time will tell with this one, folks, but so far I really dig what I see here. My only hope is that the trailer didn’t spoil all the best scares because the true strength of these films lies with the level of mystery that you have going into them. That being said, the trailer is absolutely fantastic and exactly what you would expect from the franchise. Watch it below and see what you think!

Here’s what each segment will focus on:

The segments in V/H/S: Viral include the story of a deranged illusionist who obtains a magical object of great power, a homemade machine that opens a door to a parallel world, teenage skaters that unwillingly become targets of a Mexican death cult ritual, and a sinister, shadowy organization that is tracking a serial killer. The segments are tied together by the story of a group of fame-obsessed teens following a violent car chase in LA that unwittingly become stars of the next internet sensation.

V/H/S: Viral will feature segments from Todd Lincoln (The Apparition), Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes), Marcel Sarmiento (Deadgirl), Gregg Bishop (The Other Side), Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Resolution).

I honestly believe that if you were ever attacked by a gorilla that you should just sit back and relax while you enjoy the once in a life time feeling of having each of your limbs ripped off.

The second one was a blast for the most part. This one should definitely be a lot of fun!

I’ve never even heard of this series (not surprising). But in watching the trailer I was intrigued by the different filming techniques used. It does not look like a boring film, that’s for sure!

Yea, that’s the great thing about this franchise is that you are more than likely to find at least one segment in the anthology that you’ll enjoy. Also, as you mentioned, the different visions from the directors is really cool to see as well.

I hope! I’m sure you’ve seen Timecrimes – did you see his follow up? Extra Terrestrial?

      • Ryan May 14, 2014 at 12:05 AMMay

Timecrimes is amazing, so underrated! I haven’t seen Extraterrestrial, though. Is it any good?

Timecrimes IS amazing. So good that I was really excited for “ET”. I didn’t like it very much. It was very boring and everything took place in one apartment, for the most part. I’m hoping Nacho gets back into form here.

Yea, no doubt. I think the short film style will work out really well for him. I’m probably most excited for his and Justin Benson/Aaron Moorhead’s segment.

my fingers are crossed – I didn’t like the second one too much…

I thought the second one was better than the first. There were some good moments and some bad. Safe Haven totally saved the film in my opinion.

Interesting. I hated the first V/H/S, but the 2nd was leagues better. Hopefully this one doesn’t disappoint either!

I’d have to agree with you there. The second one was a lot of fun I thought so hopefully we get more of the same this time around.
