Sometimes it’s okay to reboot a franchise, especially when it’s as much of a dumpster fire as the Pumpkinhead series has been. I can say without hesitation that the one film to scare me as a child was Stan Winston’s 1988 directorial debut, Pumpkinhead. I could hardly make it past the VHS cover art, let alone the entire film. It’s a skin-crawling, practical effects driven supernatural horror film that despite looking quite dated these days, was one of the best horror films to come out of the 80′s.
