One of the most intriguing genre films to be hitting this year’s SXSW Film Festival is Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer’s Starry Eyes, a freakish body horror flick that sheds a terrifying light on what a young actress is willing to do to become a star in Hollywood. Just a couple of days ago we were hit with a fantastic skin-crawling teaser trailer that gave us a great look at the film, but now we’ve been treated to a rather creepy festival poster for the occult horror flick!

The poster is amazing, which should come as no surprise because the talented mind behind it was none other than Jaw Shaw. In it we see a sacrifice at the forefront of the piece with the faint, ghostly image of the Hollywood sign in the background. The poster creates the perfect kind of eeriness that we saw from the teaser trailer. I really can’t wait to check this one out!

Starry Eyes tells the story of Sarah Walker, a determined and desperate actor who would do anything to land her first big role. Unfortunately this leaves her prey to a satanic cult who has been operating as Hollywood’s gatekeepers since the Golden Age. They have the power to make her a star, but it comes at a terrible price.

Alexandra Essoe, Amanda Fuller, Fabianne Therese, Noah Segan, Pat Healy and Shane Coffey all star. Thanks to the folks over at Indiewire for the first look!

I honestly believe that if you were ever attacked by a gorilla that you should just sit back and relax while you enjoy the once in a life time feeling of having each of your limbs ripped off.
