Man, it has been way too long since we’ve heard anything from this fantastic little indie psychological thriller by the name of Mr. Jones. It’s a mysterious sounding debut from The Divide scribe Karl Mueller about a man named Mr. Jones, who to some, is an enigmatic artist, with a unique vision of humanity and our place in the spiritual universe. To others, his very name conjures unimaginable primal fears. Once the sun goes down, Mr. Jones is seen dragging these strange, chilling sculptures into the thickness of the woods. I honestly couldn’t tell you which show I’m looking forward to the most between Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain and Showtime’s Penny Dreadful. What I can say, however, is that both of these shows have the potential to take small screen horror to the next level. From the word go, series creator John Logan was aiming for Penny Dreadful to be dark and terrifying while bringing to life some of literatures most classic characters.
