It has been quite a while since I’ve featured an artist in “The Art of Horror” so I’d like to make up for it with something truly unique, and that’s what we’ve got here, folks. I know most of you have heard his name before, as I’ve featured his work right here on Rhino’s Horror, but if you haven’t then you’re in for quite a surprise. Peter Strain’s artistic ability is quite different from anything we’ve seen featured in “The Art of Horror” so I think you guys are really going to like what you see here.
When we think of art the first thing that comes to mind is powerful imagery, but rarely do words themselves come into play. This is exactly what makes Strain’s art so damn unique. He combines the two together, creating unforgettable art that blends iconic imagery with his offbeat hand lettering style of typography. There’s a lot of fantastic pieces here so I hope you guys enjoy, and be sure to head over to his website to see even more!
There is a lot of Movie ‘Artwork’ that has no soul. Posters which just depict the main actors/actresses head shots spliced together with little care. It appears that these movies consider posters as an after thought. As a necessary “graphic” to help advertise as opposed to actually trying to convey a sense of the film or excite the viewer. But, films are precious to people and most of us want to see new work and exciting interpretations of favourites. I know I do. Now, there seems to be more appreciation for this kind of work – it’s not just treated as Fan art.

Yea, huge fan of that one as well! My pick is Evil Dead because I’m a sucker for anything related to that film. Great stuff!
