
And here it is! A remake to Pet Sematary looks to finally be in the works with 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo at the helm, reports Variety. Here’s a remake I think a lot of people have been asking for, including myself. I’m a huge fan of Mary Lambert’s 1989 original, but it’s just one of those flicks that I always felt suffered because of questionable acting. I think fans will be behind this one, giving Fresnadillo the rare opportunity to really blow us away with a fresh take on the classic tale. This may surprise some of you, but the 1989 film was quite the box office success, grossing $57 million domestically—it’s actually the fourth highest grossing adaptation of a King novel. Not bad!
