The-Crow

Casting rumors are fun, aren’t they? The Crow getting a reboot is old news as we’ve known for quite some time that the film is set to be directed by Javier Gutierrez with a script by Cliff Dorfman. Also, series creator James O’Barr will work as a consultant on the film, which is said to begin production in 2014. Continue Reading…

By now it’s no secret that Universal is going to shine a light back on the most famous of vampires as the studio looks to bring Dracula back to life. When the project was first announced it was originally known as Dracula: Year Zero and then eventually moved to the much simpler and familiar title of Dracula. Now, the flick appears to have settled on an even newer title that actually makes a lot more sense. Universal’s upcoming blood sucking tale will now be called Dracula Untold. The reason this title works is because the film aims to tell the origin story of the one and only Dracula so I actually quite like it. Also, the new title helps avoid the confusion of people thinking this is a remake of the 1931 classic starring Bela Lugosi. I have high hopes for this one because we’ll get a chance to see the beginnings of one of horror’s most classic stories.  Continue Reading…

Universal sets a release date for Dracula

Universal Pictures is really getting the ball rolling with their upcoming bloodsucking tale Dracula as they’ve just announced that the flick will hit theaters on August 8, 2014. Luke Evans just recently nabbed the leading role in the film which tells origin story of the most famous of vampires.

The script tells of a young prince who, when the lives of his wife and child are put in danger by a bloodthirsty sultan, risks his soul to save them, and in the process becomes the first vampire.

The latest draft of the script was written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless with Michael De Luca producing and commercial helmer Gary Shore taking a seat in the director’s chair. It’s nice to see this one getting fast tracked after it seemed all but dead not too long ago — hopefully it doesn’t suck!
