New poster comes knocking At the Devil’s Door

Nicholas McCarthy—the mind behind The Pact—will follow up his debut with At the Devil’s Door, which dropped its first trailer back in June. Now, a new poster for McCarthy’s chiller is here for your eyeballs to stare at as it warns: It’s looking for a home. I like the poster, it’s a simple enough design that shows a demonic shadow being cast, putting an emphasis on how the devil has found a new soul to torment. The devil is really good at finding attractive young women to torture, so I’ll give him that. I’ve been hearing a lot of great things about At the Devil’s Door so definitely keep an eye out for this one. Honeymoon poster gets tangled in terror

Leigh Janiak’s Honeymoon, starring Game of Thrones’ Rose Leslie, made some noise at the SXSW Film Festival this past spring, and now we’ve got a ridiculously cool poster for the film that teases: After the ceremony comes the ritual. Obviously, things don’t go too well for the newlywed couple after they head out to a cabin in the woods to spend their honeymoon. The new poster is fantastic, proving once again that indie horror houses some of the best movie art the genre has to offer.

New poster for Alexandre Aja’s Horns embraces its demons

A couple of days ago we finally got our first glimpse at the teaser for Alexandre Aja’s new horror film Horns, which stars Daniel Radcliffe. Now, on the heels of the first teaser trailer is a really cool new poster that asks us to: Embrace your demons. I really dig the comic-book look of the poster and it’s miles better than what we originally saw.

Kevin Smith’s body horror film Tusk gets an amazing first poster

Kevin Smith wants to tell us a story, one of a terrible transformation at the very hands of a madman who has an unusually deep affection for walruses. Yes, that’s actually what the movie is about and it’s entitled Tusk; there’s even a poster to prove it! I’ve been keeping a close eye on the development of Tusk since it was announced some time ago, but I’ve held off on writing anything about it until I could actually show you guys something cool. Well, that something cool is finally here and it’s in the form of a poster designed by Ignition, who did a brilliant job capturing the essence of the film with such a simple image. Great stuff.

Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno gets its hands on a poster

We now finally have a poster for Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno that is just as striking as the teaser trailer we saw back in April. Usually I can’t stand a poster that has nothing on it but a giant floating head with a bunch of nonsense thrown in the background for shits and grins, but that is absolutely not the case with the official one-sheet for The Green Inferno. It’s just a simple, terrifying shot of a girl about to become a happy meal and I love it! I think you guys are going to dig it as well so take a look!

Incredible poster for The Drownsman will send you to a watery grave!

The world of horror is just now starting to catch wind of a little supernatural suspense film by the name of The Drownsman from writer/director Chad Archibald who aims to deliver a new kind of villain that echoes the legendary monsters from films like Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween and Hellraiser. That’s certainly a tall order but there’s no denying how badly the genre could use a good ol’ fashion horror icon right now. And who knows, maybe The Drownsman could be just that.

Gorgeous new poster for Jeremy Saulnier’s Blue Ruin

Last week we saw the fantastic trailer for Jeremy Saulnier’s revenge tale Blue Ruin, and since we’re starting to inch closer to its release date, a gorgeous new poster has been released that is quite literally mind-blowing. The art comes from the film’s official twitter account, but unfortunately they didn’t say who created this stunning piece of art so I can’t give credit where credit is do. It’s such a simple design with only a few shades of color, yet it carries with it multiple interpretations and is every bit as brilliant as it is complex. Hope you guys like it!

Ridiculous indie horror Wolfcop gets an amazing poster

Some of you folks may not remember this, but almost exactly a year ago I reported on a little flick called Wolfcop that looked like the perfect love letter to the horror films of old with its ridiculous set up and kickass practical effects. Well, I’m happy to say that not only is it alive and kicking, but the crazy talented Dude Designs created a brilliant poster for the film to celebrate its Canadian release on June 6th. There’s just so much cool going on in one poster that I’m not even going to try and describe it to you. Just do yourself a favor and take a peek at it below and prepare to be amazed.

Creepy Starry Eyes poster by Jay Shaw offers a sacrifice

One of the most intriguing genre films to be hitting this year’s SXSW Film Festival is Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer’s Starry Eyes, a freakish body horror flick that sheds a terrifying light on what a young actress is willing to do to become a star in Hollywood. Just a couple of days ago we were hit with a fantastic skin-crawling teaser trailer that gave us a great look at the film, but now we’ve been treated to a rather creepy festival poster for the occult horror flick!

Ti West’s The Sacrament gets an all new poster, complete with a giant floating head of doom

Ti West is one of my favorite up and coming horror directors. He tore through the genre with his brilliant throwback House of the Devil and then quickly followed it up with the solid haunter The Innkeepers. Now, he has teamed up with producer and horror maestro Eli Roth for his latest outing, The Sacrament. With its May 1st VOD release inching closer and closer, the marketing machine is officially about to kick into gear. And to start things off, we have the film’s debut poster thanks to IGN.

Ridiculous Japanese Army of Darkness poster has a dolphin in it

Here’s something you just don’t see everyday. A Japanese movie poster for Sam Raimi’s Army of Darkness depicts the film’s hero inside a supermarket of sorts? Honestly, I’m still trying to wrap my head around the marketing strategy of this poster because there’s all sorts of insane shit going on here. If the paper bag filled with bread, a chainsaw and Ash’s boomstick isn’t weird enough, how about the random dolphin in the background jumping through a coat hanger?

Man, it has been way too long since we’ve heard anything from this fantastic little indie psychological thriller by the name of Mr. Jones. It’s a mysterious sounding debut from The Divide scribe Karl Mueller about a man named Mr. Jones, who to some, is an enigmatic artist, with a unique vision of humanity and our place in the spiritual universe. To others, his very name conjures unimaginable primal fears. Once the sun goes down, Mr. Jones is seen dragging these strange, chilling sculptures into the thickness of the woods. What are they for and what is Mr. Jones up to? I have no idea but I really wan’t to know!

This gorgeous poster gets Under the Skin

Just a couple of weeks ago we saw a very eerie red-band trailer for Jonathan Glazer’s otherworldly adaptation of Michael Faber’s Under the Skin, starring Scarlett Johansson. On tap for you alien lovers today is the film’s official poster and it’s pretty amazing. Indie films always seem to get the best posters; I’m not sure why that it but I’m glad it’s a thing! Word here on Earth is pointing towards this one being pretty damn good, so make sure you keep an eye out for this one! Laurent Durieux’s stunning art for The Birds, Vertigo and Rear Window

I’m at a loss for words on this one, guys. Laurent Durieux is one of the most brilliant artists working with Mondo today, and he continues to recreate classic films on print in masterful detail. I’ve been lucky enough to get my hands on two prints of his and I can say that the pictures, while still amazing, don’t do the art justice by any means. Durieux has a Mondo gallery show opening tomorrow and Collider revealed these three stunning screenprints for Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, Vertigo and Rear Window. All of these prints are absolutely stunning, showing exactly why Durieux’s work is some of the hardest to obtain.

Jaw Shaw, you brilliant bastard. The talented mind behind the festival one-sheet for the Elijah Wood-starring horror comedy, Cooties, is none other than Mr. Jay Shaw who has been laying his unmatched artistic vision down on canvas for quite some time now. I talked a little bit about Cooties back at the beginning of December so this one outta still be fresh in your minds as it pits a bunch of elementary school teachers against savage pre-adolescent children. It’s a quite ridiculous sounding little indie flick from directors Jonathan Millott and Cary Murnion who are bringing Leigh Whannell and Ian Brennan’s script to life. The poster was created for the film’s festival run at Sundance which will see it’s World premiere this month as part of the Midnight selection.

Who would have thought that horror and paper would go so well together? Well, this guy did…

I can’t even begin to wrap my brain around how artist Marc Hagan-Guirey managed to recreate some of horror’s most iconic haunted houses with a single piece of paper, but he did, and it’s absolutely stunning. The attention to detail and the way he uses light to create multiple layers is a thing of brilliance and easily one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while. I think you guys are going to get a kick out of this. The paper cut count must have been ridiculous while creating these miniature masterpieces!
