The trick is to stay alive.

John Carpenter’s 1978 classic Halloween has been given a little bit of a modern day makeover as Adam Eyster has taken footage from the film and re-cut it into a trailer that shines a terrifying new light on one of horror’s most iconic slashers in Michael Myers. The trailer is fantastic, using dialog to set the stage as it slowly builds towards that unforgettable Halloween night.

Although just about everyone has seen Halloween at this point (I hope), Eyster smartly creates a trailer that doesn’t spoil anything, offering just enough of a tease to draw you in asking for more. You know, like a trailer is suppose to do. But perhaps the most surprising thing about this trailer is that it elevates the true horror of the film, taking us back to the first time we saw “the devil’s eyes”. And after 30 plus years of Myers slashing his way through horror history, that’s saying something.

A psychotic murderer institutionalized since childhood for the murder of his sister, escapes and stalks a bookish adolescent girl and her friends while his doctor chases him through the streets.

Now tell me you don’t want to revisit Carpenter’s classic after watching this. Take a look!
