Ti West is one of my favorite up and coming horror directors. He tore through the genre with his brilliant throwback House of the Devil and then quickly followed it up with the solid haunter The Innkeepers. Now, he has teamed up with producer and horror maestro Eli Roth for his latest outing, The Sacrament. With its May 1st VOD release inching closer and closer, the marketing machine is officially about to kick into gear. And to start things off, we have the film’s debut poster thanks to IGN.

Okay, so it’s not great. The massive floating head kind of ruins it for me (don’t they all), but the image at the bottom of the poster is a chilling one as we see a bunch of bodies—are they dead?—lying in front of an abandoned stage. I think this poster would have totally nailed it if they would have just left out that big ass head. Nonetheless, this is one to get excited about, folks! And word on the street is that we’ll be seeing a red-band trailer tomorrow on IGN.

Live as one. Die as one.

The Sacrament centers around two reporters for VICE Media who journey to a remote Central American compound along with a photographer (Kentucker Audley) hoping to reunite with his sister (Amy Seimetz), who has dropped off the map after struggling with drug addiction. They find an isolated community of true believers devoted to a shadowy but charismatic figure called “Father.” Skeptical at first, the journalists begin to come around to the group’s utopian claims, until things rapidly take a very dark turn.

The Sacrament stars the always badass AJ Bowen, Joe Swanberg, Kentucker Audley and Amy Seimetz. Check out the poster below!

I enjoy life, living comes so naturally to me; its a precious gift like boobs… or rockets. I honestly believe that if you were ever attacked by a gorilla that you should just sit back and relax while you enjoy the once in a life time feeling of having each of your limbs ripped off.
