Jaw Shaw, you brilliant bastard. The talented mind behind the festival one-sheet for the Elijah Wood-starring horror comedy, Cooties, is none other than Mr. Jay Shaw who has been laying his unmatched artistic vision down on canvas for quite some time now. I talked a little bit about Cooties back at the beginning of December so this one outta still be fresh in your minds as it pits a bunch of elementary school teachers against savage pre-adolescent children. It’s a quite ridiculous sounding little indie flick from directors Jonathan Millott and Cary Murnion who are bringing Leigh Whannell and Ian Brennan’s script to life. The poster was created for the film’s festival run at Sundance which will see it’s World premiere this month as part of the Midnight selection.
Even though we see a lot of bad movie posters, every once in a while a talented artist like Shaw will remind us that the magic art of film isn’t just seen on the big screen, but on a 24×36 movie poster. Also, that tagline is all sorts of perfect: Circle, circle. Square, square. Now you have it everywhere. Can’t wait to get my hands on this one, folks. Check it out below!

“Zombie” children now? *sigh* I was already bored with this genre when it was just (re)starting, now I’m just completely blah. Besides the very occasional exception, I’m more than ready for this genre to be forgotten, even temporarily. It’s too bad, I love Elijah Wood.
You’re right, the genre is definitely getting worn out but Elijah Wood has been absolutely killing it lately. Seeing him fighting off a bunch of rabid children sounds like a lot of fun. We’ll have to wait and see!
