Recently landing at number one on my “Most Anticipated” list was Scott Derrickson’s upcoming chiller Deliver Us From Evil, and today we get an all new look at the horrors that await. Originally this film was slated for a release in 2015, but thankfully it has since been given a July 14th, 2014 theatrical release—that’s a hell of a lot less waiting, folks! There’s a ton of potential here has Derrickson is just coming off the massive success of Sinister, which offered some solid chills and gave horror fans something original for once.
Both of the stills are pretty badass, one of which gives us a look at Eric Bana’s character trying to figure out just what in the hell he’s looking at.
Deliver Us from Evil is the story of a New York cop who meets a renegade priest when he is pulled into a case which the priest convinces him, against the officer’s religious beliefs, is demonic related. Together they work to solve the case and combat the paranormal forces working against them.
Deliver Us From Evil stars Bana alongside Edgar Ramirez, Olivia Munn, Joel McHale, and Sean Harris. Take a look at the stills below!
Scott is awesome to interact with on Twitter. He says this one will be a “Hard R rating” and he didn’t consider “Sinister” a hard R, so this one should be pretty intense. Definitely looking forward to the trailer whenever one becomes available. I tweeted him this post.
