Illustrator and Artist, Matt Andrews, has recreated some of horror’s most terrifying monsters by using nothing but cosmetics such as lip stick, baby powder, adhesive bandages and so much more. It’s amazing what someone like Andrews can piece together with such a creative and talented mind. His art is truly something special and guaranteed to wow any fan of the horror genre.
The project was called “Beauty Shock.” We had to take something beautiful, or in my case beautifying, and make it shocking. I originally was going to just use one medium, shaving cream. It’s one of those things that is so fun to play with and sculpt, but let it stand a few minutes and it loses its structure. There’s something so nice about a medium that forces you to work fast and be done quickly… In the end though, my professor suggested I branch out with other cosmetics, and then I just picked movie monsters because they are so iconic and recognizable that it would be very feasible to represent them using any medium.
