The Haunting of Helena brings a twisted take on Tooth Fairy lore

It looks like Bloody Disgusting Selects has another wicked looking horror flick up their sleeves with The Haunting of Helena. The film landed a release in select theaters on June 21, 2013. Have no worries friends because If you can’t check it out in theaters the film will also hit Cable VOD in partnership with Tribeca Films as well as digital streaming on June 18, 2013.

The film was formerly known as Fairytale before picking up its new title of The Haunting of Helena and  will be a twist on the legend of the Tooth Fairy. Below I’ve got the film’s theatrical one-sheet — it’s creepy as hell and features a toothless fairy who has one hell of a charming look on her face. You can have all of my teeth, just stay the f*ck away!

After a divorce, Sophia moves to the south of Italy with her daughter, Helena. Their new home, an apartment within an austere building of the fascist age, is a chance for them to start a new life. But inside an old storage room hides a mysterious closet and a buried secret. After the loss of Helena’s first baby tooth, a chilling obsession begins and an apparition haunts her sleep. Dreams become nightmares. Nightmares become reality. When Helena collects her classmate’s fallen teeth with an urgent hunger, it is clear that there is far more to their new home than can be seen. Sophia finds herself in a terrifying fight to save her child while maintaining her sanity. The Haunting of Helena will keep you at the edge of your seat as it slides in agony along the sharp blade of psychological terror.

I enjoy life, living comes so naturally to me; its a precious gift like boobs… or rockets. I honestly believe that if you were ever attacked by a gorilla that you should just sit back and relax while you enjoy the once in a life time feeling of having each of your limbs ripped off.

That’s me in the poster, Ryan. I had just walked out of the dentists office when the picture was taken.

Awesome creepy image and poster. Let’s hope it’s better than Darkness Falls, another Tooth Fairy wannabe horror flick.

Yea Darkness Falls was a huge disappointment. Hoping for a trailer soon to give us an idea of what this one will look like.
