‘Byzantium’ Bites into a Release Date

Neil Jordan is back in the blood-sucking genre with his latest vampire tale, Byzantium, that is set for its debut on June 28th through IFC Films in limited theaters as well as VOD. I’m pumped to see Jordan bringing us a new vampire flick because his Interview with the Vampire is easily one of my favorite flicks in the genre. Now more than ever do we need a solid film to return vampires back to their terrifying roots — hopefully Jordan’s Byzantium is the film that will do just that.

Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan star as two mysterious women who seek refuge in a run-down coastal resort. Clara meets lonely Noel, who provides shelter in his deserted guesthouse, Byzantium. Schoolgirl Eleanor befriends Frank and tells him their lethal secret. They were born 200 years ago and survive on human blood. As knowledge of their secret spreads, their past catches up on them with deathly consequence.

I enjoy life, living comes so naturally to me; its a precious gift like boobs… or rockets. I honestly believe that if you were ever attacked by a gorilla that you should just sit back and relax while you enjoy the once in a life time feeling of having each of your limbs ripped off.

I am looking forward to seeing this one; Jordan directed one of my favorite movies, “The Company of Wolves.”
