New Posters For ‘Stoker’ and ‘Hitchcock’

With a March 1, 2013 release still a long ways ahead, Park Chan-wook’s Stoker debuts its first fantastic poster which features a pencil-work style. It’s very cool and finally something different from what we usually see from high profile films such as this. Chan-wook’s english-language debut marks Stoker as the first of a planned trilogy.

After India’s (Wasikowska’s) father dies in an auto accident, her Uncle Charlie (Goode), who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother (Kidman). Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.

With a much sooner release on November 23, the newest Hitchcock poster features Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren. It stays with the same style of the ones we’ve seen before but with this poster we get a much better look at Helen Mirren as Hitchcock’s wife. I’m also a huge fan of the new tagline.

“Behind every Psycho is a great woman”

The film is based on the non-fiction book by Stephen Rebello that explains how Hitchcock, while at the height of his career as a director, decides to make a low budget horror film (Psycho) that no studio would touch. Ultimately, this forced Hitchcock to finance the project on his own which then, of course, becomes one of the most influential films of all time.

I enjoy life, living comes so naturally to me; its a precious gift like boobs… or rockets. I honestly believe that if you were ever attacked by a gorilla that you should just sit back and relax while you enjoy the once in a life time feeling of having each of your limbs ripped off.

Yea he sure does! One thing that has been really impressing me about ‘Hitchcock’ is how perfectly cast it is. Everyone really looks the part.

Ed Gein (the inspiration behind Norman Bates’ character) and Peggy Robertson (an assistant to Hitch).
