As if this is surprising news, it looks like one of Stephen King’s latest short stories from his collection in his most recent, Full Dark No Stars, will be hitting the silver screen with A Good Marriage.
From Screen Daily, “Atlas International has added Stephen King adaptation ‘A Good Marriage’ to its Cannes slate. Peter Askin will direct the psychological thriller based on a short story from King’s book Full Dark – No Stars, winner of the 2010 Bram Stoker Award for Best Collection. Will Battersby produces.”
A Good Marriage is about Darcy Anderson who learns more about her husband of over twenty years than she would have liked to know when she stumbles literally upon a box under a worktable in their garage.
One of the great things about Kings collection of stories and especially this short story in particular is that it presents to you the idea that no matter who the person is and how much you may trust them you will never truly know who they are. There will always be secrets and things lurking in the shadows that you may never know and in Full Dark No Stars this is the main theme with all of the stories.
A Good Marriage is a fantastic choice and could make a great film but it all depends on the actors who will have to be in their late 50′s or early 60′s in order to get the same feeling that the short story had. The reason the story is so effective is because it’s an old married couple who have been together for what seems like forever and just when you think you really know someone, she finds something that literally changes her life forever. Hopefully this adaptation falls in the right hands because if the film can be as successful as the story itself then we could have another classic on the horizon.

Nice! It’s a great read, the first story, 1922, is probably my fav. in the collection. Haha I’ll have to agree with your bet. It’ll most definitely be a young couple which will completely take away from the entire point of what makes that story so good.
